We’re proud to announce the return of Devinci’s Development Racing program in partnership with none other than Yoann Barelli. For 2025, Devinci is supporting three up-and-coming racers—all hailing from Canada’s mountain bike mecca, the Sea-to-Sky corridor. Strongly aligned with our We Make Riders brand mission, this program is dedicated to developing young talent before their junior years, helping shape the future of Canadian mountain biking.

The revival of the program came at the initiative of Yoann Barelli, who steps in as both field coach and mentor. With years of coaching experience and deep industry insight, Yoann is excited to pass on his technique, mindset, and passion to the next generation.

For me, this program is super important. Canada is definitely on the map in terms of racing talent on the world stage, but we want to make sure it stays that way. With Devinci and our program partners, we’ve built something great—something we hope will grow alongside the riders in the years to come. When you’re building something big, you have to start small.

MEET THE TEAM

Ruby Wells — U17 – Squamish, BC

Ruby is already making waves in the U17 category and proving she can hang with the Elites. She scored an impressive 2nd place at the Squamish Enduro earlier this season. Focused on Downhill racing, Ruby has her eyes firmly set on earning the maple leaf sleeve. Watch for her at Crankworx Whistler and the US Open this season.

Owen White — U15 – Pemberton, BC

Owen is part of the new wave of speed-savvy riders who bring huge amounts of style to their riding, whether it's on a bike or on skis. You can find him in the Whistler Bike Park on his Devinci Chainsaw DH or in Pemby's trails on his Spartan between the races this summer.

Jack Johnston (JJ) — U17 – Pemberton, BC

JJ splits his time between Tour-de-Gnar-style lines, trail building, and racing the BC and Canada Cup circuits. A natural on the bike and on the tools, JJ is quickly becoming a name to watch. While racing DH is his main focus this season, he might just have a soft spot for pure freeride. Time will tell where his path leads.
