The partnership between Damien Oton and Devinci is coming to an end. The Catalan Eagle was able to get the best of his last race on the Spartan in early December, by winning the Megavalanche Saint Paul in Reunion Island. It is with much pride and emotion that Devinci pays tribute to this great rider.
Damien became part of the Devinci family in 2014, for the 2nd Edition of the Enduro World Series. At the age of 26, he made the giant leap, setting aside his trade as a plumber to devote himself entirely to becoming a professional enduro athlete. We are so proud to have put our faith in this rare bird when we first put together our enduro team! He is a three-time runner-up of the EWS overall (2014, 2016 and 2018), two-time winner of an EWS event and multiple Megavalanche winner.
“Damien has stirred up a lot of emotion! Great victories, enormous challenges, heartbreaking injuries… It has been a privilege to work with such a professional athlete, demanding of himself and of the bikes. For bike lovers like us, this type of feedback is extremely valuable and Damien’s contribution is undeniable,” - David Régnier-Bourque, Devinci’s Sales and Marketing Director.
« It’s been six amazing years with you guys! If I am here today, it’s in part because of you! I want to thank everyone at Devinci for all these great moments that I will never forget.” - Damien Oton
Damien will be missed, especially since he was really starting to master the Quebec accent! But, don’t worry Dam—there will always be a small stock of maple syrup for you in the pits.
