Pascal Bouchard, first Hawaii Ironman event completed
2010 Hawaii Ironman | October 9th 2010, Pascal Bouchard, a triathlete from the Saguenay region achieved his dream of competing at the World Championship Ironman in Hawaii. He completed this grueling competition with a time of 10h59m50s. This race consists of 3.8 km of swimming, 180km of bike and 42.2 km of running.
Having concentrated solely on swimming, Pascal decided in 2007 to add biking and running to his training. It was shortly after, in September 2008 in Montreal, that he had his first chance to compete in an Ironman triathlon. He competed again in September 2009, where he won in all categories.
In 2010, a random draw allows him to bypass the qualification and participate in the Hawaii Ironman.
"The swim went quite well despite a perpetual struggle due to the number of participants. The 180 km bike ride was very windy, even dangerous in some places, adorned with endless false flats. I left a lot of energy in the bike ride, which explains my time in the marathon. I am very satisfied with my performance considering the extreme weather conditions and my level of experience. "
